Plettenberg Bay Beach Mission 2008 (see photos)
Grace a word we often see in the scriptures meaning unmerited favour. This word had a new meaning for us as we experienced God’s favour in all areas of the 2008 mission. Repeatedly we stood in awe of the Lord as we experienced His blessings. The term ‘Wow’ would express it all, especially for those who have attended Plett Beach Mission before. Here are some difficulties and blessings.
• In October there were only 2 applicants, by training weekend we had 13.
• We were denyed permission to minister on the beach because another company was already there, when we got to the beach they were gone!
• Coca Cola showed up on the beach to do a promotional tour and they decided to work with us and promote our volleyball and soccer tournaments.
• Locals from the past years came back to play in the tournament and be a part of our team to help with the mission.
• The beach was filled with kids and teenagers, we were able to have a soccer ministry for the first time this year, and also hold a kids clinic every morning to teach them how to play volleyball and talk to them about the Lord.
• There were many distractions on the beach so at times it was difficult to keep people's attention as we were trying to share the gospel.
• We were blessed through Mr. Minaar, a member of St. Thomas church where we stayed, we didn't have a place to sleep for a couple days so he put us up in his hotel for FREE! for 3 days.
• We left Plett with a deeper love for the Lord and each other and are extremely grateful for the privilege of sharing the gospel and experiencing His special grace and kindness.
